The Tax Authority has showcased its fully integrated digital tax system at a prestigious international seminar on ‘Digitalisation and Digital Transformation of Tax Administrations’ held in Beijing, China.

 

Pioneering Digital Tax Services

H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the Tax Authority, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to digital excellence in his keynote address. He highlighted the country’s advanced digital infrastructure and the strategies initiated to further develop government systems and enhance the quality of life.

 

Global Exchange of Digital Tax Expertise

The seminar provided a platform for the Tax Authority to present the UAE’s digital tax system experience to a global audience, including tax authorities from around the world. The two-day event in Beijing focused on the latest trends and developments in the digitization of tax administrations.

 

A Delegation of Innovation

The Tax Authority’s delegation, led by H.E. Al Bustani and including prominent figures from the Tax Compliance Sector and the Tax Policy and International Relations Department, shared insights on the UAE’s innovative approach to tax services.

 

EmaraTax: A Digital Tax Services Platform

The EmaraTax platform was presented as a cornerstone of the Tax Authority’s strategy, offering online services that eliminate personal or paper transactions. It serves as a unified portal that connects the Tax Authority’s services with public and private entities, leveraging UAE PASS digital identity for all procedures.

 

Facilitating Tax Procedures with Digital Solutions

The Tax Authority has introduced a variety of electronic payment solutions, including the Generated International Bank Account Number (GIBAN), to streamline tax payments and facilitate taxpayer procedures.

 

Showcasing Digital Systems

The seminar also featured the Tax Authority’s digital systems, such as the fully digital VAT Refund Scheme for Tourists, which utilizes electronic invoices and links sales outlets directly with the refund system. Additionally, the Muwafaq package for SMEs was highlighted, which offers services, incentives, and privileges tailored to support entrepreneurship and innovation.

 

Exploring Future Tax Administration

The seminar covered topics such as electronic invoice systems, cross-border collaboration, digital transformation models, and tax rules from various countries, reflecting the global nature of tax administration in the digital age.
