The Tax Authority has reported exceptional outcomes from the ‘Muwafaq Package’ and ‘Specialised Tax Agent’ projects, both of which have significantly enhanced tax compliance and the overall quality of government services.
Facilitating Tax Compliance for SMEs
The ‘Muwafaq Package’ project, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), has provided innovative tax solutions to support and empower the sector’s youth, stimulating their active participation in the economy. The results have shown that this initiative is playing a crucial role in simplifying self-compliance with tax regulations.
Specialized Tax Agent Initiative Success
The ‘Specialised Tax Agent’ project, which allows taxpayers to select a Tax Agent with expertise in their specific sector, has seen a surge in activity. The Tax Authority has recorded a 15% increase in online connections between registered taxpayers and accredited Tax Agents, as well as a record number of 70,000 visits to the Tax Agent Registry in the first half of 2023.

Muwafaq Package Benefits
Over 51,660 SME taxpayers are eligible for the ‘Muwafaq Package’, which offers access to competitively priced tax accounting programs, immediate appointments with tax relationship managers, special offers on Tax Agent services, and priority service completion for registered SME representatives.
Awareness and Partnerships
The Tax Authority has intensified awareness efforts through workshops and media campaigns, resulting in increased utilization of the ‘Muwafaq Package’. Strategic partnerships have been formed with leading entities to provide additional benefits and facilities to registered companies.
Specialized Tax Agent Database Growth
The ‘Specialised Tax Agent’ database has grown to include 319 agents, representing over 70% of the total number of agents registered with the FTA. This initiative has been designed to enhance taxpayer satisfaction with the services provided by Tax Agents.
