The Tax Authority has successfully wrapped up its in-person and virtual workshops across all emirates, marking a milestone in corporate tax awareness with an impressive turnout.

 

A Campaign of Knowledge and Compliance

The Tax Authority’s comprehensive awareness campaign has made significant strides in introducing the new tax system, drawing remarkable participation from corporate taxpayers and stakeholders. The campaign’s first phase has been a resounding success, with 48 workshops conducted both online and in-person, and approximately 13,600 participants engaging actively.

 

A Multifaceted Approach to Tax Education

With an emphasis on continuous knowledge support, the Tax Authority has organized 39 virtual sessions to demystify Corporate Tax, elucidating registration requirements and procedures in both Arabic and English. These educational sessions, accessible through the Authority’s official website, have featured weekly workshops aimed at equipping taxpayers and stakeholders with the necessary tools for accurate and seamless tax implementation.

 

Groundbreaking In-Person Workshops

Complementing the virtual offerings, nine in-person workshops were conducted across the seven emirates, culminating in a session on the ‘General Principles on Taxation of Corporations and Businesses’ in Dubai. These workshops, in collaboration with various government and private-sector entities, have been integral in fostering a comprehensive understanding of Corporate Tax.

 

The Authority’s Commitment to Outreach and Support

Director-General H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani has praised the campaign’s first phase, highlighting the significant interest and interaction it has generated. The Tax Authority’s commitment to reaching all stakeholders through diverse channels and innovative methods has been a cornerstone of the campaign, aimed at facilitating voluntary self-compliance through transparent and precise procedures.

 

Looking Ahead: Phase Two of the Campaign

As the Tax Authority gears up for the second phase of the awareness campaign in 2024, it remains focused on specific topics to further awareness of legislation, requirements, and procedures for precise Corporate Tax compliance. The upcoming phase will incorporate the latest technologies to ensure accessibility to information, preparing the business community for efficient Corporate Tax Law implementation.

 

Workshop Insights and Expert Guidance

During the workshops, tax experts have delved into the essence of Corporate Tax Law, providing clarity on policies, legislative procedures, and implementation timelines. They have also discussed criteria for tax applicability, exemptions, and elaborated on facilities for startups, small businesses, and free zones, among other crucial topics.
