FTA’s Innovation Management System Celebrated with International ISO Certification
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) proudly shares its latest achievement: an international accreditation for its innovation management system. This honor recognizes the FTA’s commitment to implementing global best practices and standards that amplify the effectiveness and efficiency of innovation management.
FTA Bags ISO 56002:2019 Certificate
The FTA has been granted the coveted ISO 56002:2019 certificate, a testament to its success in executing the international standard for innovation management. Notably, this accomplishment comes at a time when the FTA is actively participating in the month-long UAE Innovates 2024 initiative.
The granting of the certification was the result of a stringent audit process by experts from the certifying body. After a thorough examination of the FTA’s system and validation of the accuracy of all related protocols, the Authority came out with flying colors. The certification verifies that the FTA’s system lays a robust framework for driving innovation. It also signifies a notable boost in the FTA’s performance ratings in terms of innovation, ensuring the Authority’s continued backing for regulatory reform programmes.
Fostering a Culture of Innovation
His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the FTA, highlighted, “The ISO certification for the innovation management system adds an extra layer of assurance to the Federal Tax Authority’s systems, particularly in the context of the innovation environment and its expansion. It underpins the Authority’s dedication to building an institutional environment that stimulates creativity and innovation, and prioritizes the skill and talent development of innovation management employees.“
The FTA’s goal is to prompt innovative and efficient solutions to both challenges and opportunities, employing innovative strategies to achieve sustainable financial diversification for the UAE for future generations. H.E. Al Bustani added, “The FTA is constantly seeking to enhance and streamline procedures, deliver high-quality services, and facilitate self-compliance.“

Jassim Al-Haddad, Head of the FTA’s Innovation Team, noted, “Securing this international certificate in the field of institutional innovation attests to the Federal Tax Authority’s exemplary structure in the innovation sector, which aligns with the best practices in the field. The implementation of the ISO 56002:2019 international standard further affirms that the Authority has successfully developed, implemented, and maintained a secure and effective system for managing innovation, thereby enhancing its operations and continuously improving the system.“
The FTA’s commitment to adopting international standards for its systems and processes is unwavering. This includes the ISO 56002:2019 certificate for innovation management, as well as several other international accreditation certificates.
The Authority’s comprehensive quality system, which was previously certified with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificate, aims to boost the performance of the FTA’s business processes in all areas. It ensures compliance with the requirements of an effective quality management system and a continuous commitment to it in all services provided by the Authority.
